John 1:41-43

⁴¹ He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated Christ^[a] ). ⁴² He led him to Jesus.

Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter).

⁴³ The next day Jesus wanted to go into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
